Barleti Institute for Research and Development (BIRD) organized the meeting and training of
trainers regarding the Adventure along Via Dinarica project on December 5 and 6. Adriapol
Institute, as a national organization, supervised this activity. This project is supported by the
Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), within the framework of the Tourism Development and
Promotion project. The launch meeting organized by BIRD brought together project partners, the
Terra Dinarica organization in Bosnia Herzegovina, the organization World Serbia, as well as
important actors in the field of tourism in Albania, such as the Albanian Development Fund and
various tourist agencies.
During the greeting speech, Prof. Dr. Suzana Guxholli, Vice Rector at Marin Barleti University,
emphasized the importance of such projects for tourism development, trans-national cooperation
and the creation of sustainable partnerships for future cooperation. The second day of the
meeting was dedicated to the Training of Trainers on Risk Management. Practical
demonstrations on basic preparations, appropriate equipment, risk management on seasonal and
difficulty levels etc were conducted during the training. The project provides a series of trainings

for professional guides and future trainers in the respective countries, as well as the publication
of a document on current situation, legal framework and recommendations in the three countries
covered by the project. The project also aims to establish a Regional Adventure Tourism
Academy to provide on-going training services.
